Luxury German kitchens for homes across Sheffield and the surrounding region — designed in conversation, drawn by hand, made to last a generation.
An introduction
For a family-run team we have designed, built and fitted bespoke kitchens for the homes across Sheffield and the surrounding region — Shaker, in-frame, painted timber and the quiet modern rooms that have followed. Every kitchen begins not with a brochure but with a conversation, and is drawn by a single designer who will see it through to the day it is fitted.
— The Square design team
Solid tulipwood and oak frames, traditionally jointed, finished by hand in the colour of your choosing. The finish is as kind as the joinery: should the room ever ask for a different mood, the doors come off, and they are repainted — not replaced.
For the home that asks for cleaner lines without losing warmth — a quieter modern register. Hand-painted matt finishes in earthen tones, paired with stone, brass, walnut and unlacquered oak. The cabinetry recedes; the room remains.
III · The collections
Each begins with the same drawing board, the same workshop, and the same designer. They differ only in temperament — and in the kind of room you wish to be living in, twenty years from now.

Hand-painted tulipwood, traditionally jointed, with brass or pewter ironmongery.

Painted in the colour of your choosing, with optional inset panelling and beaded detail.

Cleaner lines in painted matt, with stone, brass and walnut — for warmer modern rooms.

Solid oak, walnut or ash — book-matched, oiled, and built to be lived in for generations.

Painted timber paired with marble, soapstone, or hand-honed quartzite — the kitchen as study.

For the architect-led project: drawings supplied, cabinetry to brief, no collection language.
IV · Portfolio

A Georgian rear-extension brought into one room with the principal living space. Pale grey hand-painted in-frame, a four-metre island in honed Carrara, and a flush ceiling extractor concealed in the rafters. Designed and fitted in the autumn of 2024.

V · A note on craft
Every kitchen we make is drawn by hand by a single designer, and that designer remains your point of contact through every visit, every revision, and every day on site. There is no design team handing your project on; no salesperson handing over to a project manager; no project manager handing over to a fitter you have not met.
This is what bespoke is meant to mean — a kitchen made for you, by people you know, in a way that can be answered for.
VI · Your kitchen, in six visits
From the first conversation to the day we hang the final door, the journey is the same. Unhurried, transparent, and authored throughout by the person whose name is on the drawings.
An unhurried hour at the showroom or at your home. We discuss the room, the way you cook, the way you live — and the budget you have to work with.
Visit I · 90 minutesA proper architectural survey of the room, plotting services, structure and existing constraints. The drawing board begins here, never before.
Visit II · 2 hoursTwo layouts, drawn by hand and rendered in plan. We walk you through both, and revise until the drawing is right — before any quotation is issued.
Visit III · at the showroomDoors, paint, worktops, ironmongery, lighting, sockets, splashback. Every item is specified by line, sourced and priced — there are no allowances and no surprises.
Visit IVThe cabinetry is made — much of it in our partner workshops, all of it to your specification. The lead time is used to coordinate with your other trades.
Visit V · 8–10 weeksOur own fitters install the kitchen — never subcontracted. The same designer attends on the first and last day. We do not leave until you are using it.
Visit VI · 2–3 weeksSquare's drawings were the first I'd seen that didn't try to sell me a kitchen — they tried to understand the room. Two years on, I still notice details I didn't know to ask for.Sheffield client · 2023Mrs. K, Halfway
